In-person adoptions have returned to the ARF Hamptons campus via our Mobile Adoption Van while we are under construction. You can start the process by completing an application to adopt a dog or completing an application to adopt a cat online, or just stop by.
Julie, with mesmerizing light green eyes, was rescued from a hoarder situation. She loves to play, especially with toy mice, and she is known to go crazy for a feather wand! She gets along with other cats but can be a bit nervous at first with people. She has finally figured out that being petted is a good thing and has given into the purrs. This once under-socialized kitty has come so far already, just imagine what she could do in a forever home.
More about JulieThis first thing you notice about Smokey Joe is his soulful eyes. This adorable boy has an impeccable memory and bonds greatly with his people. Smokey Joe never forgets people, even if it's been a while since he last saw them. His devotion towards his people is unmatched and heartwarming. Smokey Joe has been at ARF for more than five years. The reason being is his wariness of strangers. Through our incredible trainer and dedicated staff, Smokey Joe has worked very hard to become the best boy he can be. Potential adopters would need to meet him at least three times before taking him home. During these visits, Smokey Joe will start to bond, and potential adopters will learn about his tools for success. Smokey can be a bit selective about his canine companions, so a meet and greet would be a must, and he would do best in an adult only home. We believe that once Smokey Joe gets used to a new routine and new friends, he will be a faithful companion and best friend.
More about Smokey JoeThis sassy senior has lots to say and doesn't hold back. Phoebe is the matriarch of the ARF kitties, and she knows what she wants: good food, lots of pets, and someone to love. She's happy to peacefully snooze the day away, and while she's moving a bit slower these days because of arthritis, she's ready to live out her golden years in a home that's worthy of her "cattitude."
More about PhoebeZeke is a beautiful boy that came to ARF when his owner could no longer care for him. Once he gets to know you a bit, he is a friendly, smart and lovable boy. This happy boy will put a smile on your face! Zeke is a great walker, he is always looking back to you for guidance. He has the best eye contact, and loves to sit for his favorite treat, string cheese! He may require a couple of meetings to get used to you, or perhaps just a long walk with treats may do the trick. Once he bonds, he is playful and outgoing with his people. If you're looking for a dog to be your best friend, Zeke is your guy!
More about ZekeThis handsome fella originally came to ARF as a kitten through our Operation Cat program and since then Shadow has bounced around a bit trying to find a human who will truly understand him. He gets along with other cats one of his best friends is Chestnut! Shadow enjoys a good roll in the cat nip from time to time, and loves to splash around in his water bowl. More about ShadowDIAMOND IN THE RUFF: Sahteene can be a very cautious dog. Depending on the situation, she is known to have stranger danger. When with someone she loves, she finds confidence. It doesn't take long for Sahteene to fall in love; just throw a ball and toss a few treats and she'll be your new best friend. She is very dog selective. There have been a few canines that she's enjoyed playdates with, however she would appreciate a home without any other pets. Sahteene is a beautiful white Shepherd mix who is very smart and a bit silly. She is affectionate, and bonds quickly with people. She knows her basic commands and wants to learn more. Sahteene is a great dog and will need a patient and understanding owner who can continue her training at home. Give this girl a chance, and she'll repay you in love. SAHTEENE'S NEEDS: 12+ Children * Single Animal Home Preferred * NO Cats * Dog Selective * Needs Multiple Meetings Before Going Home *
More about Sahteene "Teeny"This beautiful tuxedo cat was found as a stray by an Operation Cat volunteer who noticed she was too friendly to be feral. Janet loves attention, and gets along with other cats, but like many felines she wants it on her own terms and has been known to summons you over with the cutest chirping noises. Once she gets settled in and acclimates to a new home, she will make a great companion for all. We just need someone to give her a chance.
More about JanetStella is a pretty girl, who loves to smile for the camera! She is a smartie and enjoys learning. She has most of her basic commands already, and would excel with continued positive training. Stella has so much fun playing with other dogs! Stella needs time to be comfortable with new people and having another dog in her house could be a great way to earn her trust. We recommend Stella meets her adopters multiple times before going home. With some time and patience, Stella could be a wonderful addition to your household.
More about StellaThis handsome boy is the quintessential independent feline. Let's just say, Simon likes what he likes when he likes it, and when he doesn't, he'll let you know! Simon will tolerate a quick pet or scratch if you must, but what he really enjoys is his own sunny spot near a window to watch the birds and nature around him. His favorite time of the day is mealtime, and as far as he's concerned, the more snacks you give him the better! If you are looking for a beautiful feline who doesn't need to be the center of attention, then you need to meet Simon.
